The Railway Museum D51 simulator

The simulation allows to drive between Hanamaki sta. and Iwate-Kamigo sta. on the Kamaishi line. Reproducing operation of a wide range of equipment normally found in a SL train locomotive, this is the first ever full-fledged steam locomotive simulator in Japan. It can be operated by two people at once (a driver and a stoker) and features two 150-inch screens. Thanks to the motion system it reproduces the distinctive driving mechanisms and oscillation of a steam locomotive, offering a realistic train simulation experience unlike any other. Operational since October 2007.
